Custom Jewelry Design is a specialty of ours at Goldsmiths. From
the original design sketch, through the wax model, to the final
casting, all the work is performed right in our own Lab. Beautiful
Custom Jewelry Designs have been a mainstay of the Goldsmiths
for years and we just keep producing finer and more intricate
designs, so many that we have added three more Master Jewelers
to our staff of fine jewelry craftsmen.
"Master jeweler Dave Wyland is the owner of The Goldsmith’s Diamonds and Design in Medford Oregon. Dave has spent many years in the Oregon communities of Grants Pass and Medford where he grew up perfecting his craft. Working as a craftsman on both jewelry repair and eye glass frame repair using a top of the line laser welder, Dave often hears the compliment, “I can’t even see where it was broken."
"Steve Johnson joined forces with Dave in early 2006. Having spent over 30 years working in all aspects of the jewelry business, Steve brings considerable experience to the Goldsmith’s. Early in the 1970’s, Steve earned the designation of Master Jeweler after a 3 a year apprenticeship with a European Master."
"Steve worked as a designer and overseas buyer for a chain of jewelry stores from Portland to Albany Oregon. Having traveled more than once from the states to Thailand, he has worked with manufactures, stone cutters, and dealers involving all aspects of overseas import. In the process he has forged lasting relationships with resources all over the country and abroad."
"We also excel at creating beautiful custom jewelry designs from scratch. We can start by completely replicating a vintage design, or even adding a modern update. The Goldsmith’s can also recreate a piece for your insurance company. After consultation, our experienced custom designer sketches a design."
" After the sketch is approved; a wax model is carved by hand. Our clients view the wax model and any further modifications are made if necessary. Next, the jeweler casts the piece in yellow or white gold, platinum, or even silver. The wax mold is destroyed in this process ensuring your unique one of a kind custom piece."
